Dear brothers and sisters,

Over the past 12 months, Sacred Heart Parish has made significant strides in bringing parish technology to a level that not only serves us in the midst of restrictions due to Covid-19, but will also prepare us for future growth, and create new opportunities for ministry, outreach, and education.  Among these accomplishments we can include: 
 

• Parish campus-wide WiFi access
• Network fibre installation 
• Live streaming Mass coverage
• Online Mass reservation system
• Greater Facebook content 
• A brand new, home-built, state-of-the-art website powered by eCatholic

The next crucial gap that needed to be filled came down to communication -- that is, communication with parishioners that leverages the ubiquitous technology of SmartPhones and home computing.  To put it briefly, the parish has not had an effective mode of information sharing outside of Mass announcements and bulletins.  With Covid limiting physical presence at the Church, these old-school methods became insufficient.

Enter Flocknote.  In short, Flocknote is a widely-used communications platform designed for Catholic parishes and dioceses, which gives us the ability to send information safely, quickly, and easily to as many parishioners who are signed up.   This can be accompished via email, text, or both, depending on your preference.  This accomplishes the following:
 

1. Eliminates Robocalls
2. Ensures immediate notice of information one would otherwise need to stumble across by visiting the website
3. Allows ministry leaders to communicate with their particular sub-groups 
4. Facilitates opportunities by letting parishioners subscribe to groups and ministries they have an interest in participating in.
5. Offers an easier-to-use Mass reservation system.

Flocknote is fully encrypted and has several failover mechanisms to prevent loss of information and services.  We believe it will become an indispensible instrument for growing the parish and growing your faith.  

The following instructional will ease the process of signing up with Flocknote if you do not already have an e-mail submitted through the current reservation system.  If you are already in the parish system, you will receive an email from us (through Flocknote) welcoming you to the service.  At that time, you will have the opportunity to OPT OUT of future communications by unsubscribing directly through the email you received.  If you are already in our system, but want to also subscribe to text alerts, please continue to the instructional .
