Catechumen instruction is supplemented with material provided by the Symbolon video series (The Augustine Institute).
What: Sacred Heart Parish facilitates catechesis and formation of adults seeking Christian baptism and entry into the Roman Catholic Church through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).
When: The RCIA program typically begins on the second or third Sunday of September, and continues through the Easter Vigil Mass, in which catechumens receive the sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation.
Individuals who approach for instruction after the class year begins may be incorporated into the class ("caught up") but will be required to meet with the Deacon to make up missed material. Individuals who approach after the first Sunday of October will be taken on a case-by-case, individual basis by a deacon or priest if it is determined there is enough time to make a proper discernment and receive all the necessary instruction prior to the Easter Vigil.
Class: Class currently meets on Sunday mornings from 8:00 am - 9:30 am in the Parish Center.
Enrollment: Please fill out the form at the link below, and return by email to cmazzacano@shclombard.org
Leadership: The RCIA program is administered under the direction of Deacon Chris Mazzacano.
